ABOUT me

I am a visual artist from Portland, Oregon whose practice includes photography, painting, and graphic design. I am an Iraq-War Veteran who served in the US Marine Corps from 2007-11 as a rifleman. In 2016, I completed my first BFA in Photography & Painting at Marylhurst University and recently completed a second BFA in Graphic Design at Portland State University.

I love art, plain and simple. I value creativity and self expression. Art has not only given me a helpful outlet to process and heal, it also provides a way to connect with the world around me.

When I’m not making art, I am likely playing the drums in bands around the Portland area. Self care and exercise are important to me. I go on daily walks with my dog, practice yoga and love hiking in the gorge or spending time on the Oregon coast.

Family is very important to me, and I’m extremely grateful for the group of people who raised me and grew up with me. My dad and grandfather are both drummers, which was passed down to me. Both of my parents are creative and I was exposed to a wide variety of art and crafts as a kid. My grandpa Jack was a photographer, and I grew up with a camera in my face all of the time. The bulk of my grandpa’s photos were of his family, and that taught me that seemingly candid photos of people can blur the lines between “family photos” and fine art. All of this exposure to different things rubbed off on me, and I think it is reflected in how I enjoy working in so many styles.
